“Like walking on a cloud.”
Just as I realized that the elastic waistline in Julia’s underwear were leaving hot pink gouges in her skin, causing her to pull at her clothing and scratch herself in the most unflattering of ways, The Parentbloggers Network sent out an email about a new campaign with Hanes, for their new kids line of Comfort-Fit Underwear. Hanes is putting their money where their mouth is with their Comfort Fit Promise: their products are better-fitting and guarantee maximum, wedgie-free comfort.
Comfort and fit for kids? You promise? Count me in. I also opted for socks, because my daughter goes through socks like nobody’s business and I am always looking for decent socks for her.

Shortly after I expressed my desire to be a part of this campaign a package arrived at my door filled with…wait for it…underwear! Nineteen pairs in all – 9 pairs of the No Ride Up bikini, and another 9 of the same, in briefs. There were also three pairs of socks, and although the folks at PBN said they probably wouldn’t fit, I threw them in the wash and put them on Julia too – I had to see for myself. And whaddya know? They fit!
We got three pairs of the Hanes EZ Sort Socks, which I call bootie socks for short. With a pink heel and toe, they are, as promised, easy to spot in a pile of laundry and pair up. They’re also very, very thick. These babies have DURABLE written all over them, not to mention comfort.
“How do they feel?” I asked Julia once she’d slipped them on. “Are they too tight? Too big? Do they feel weird around your toes?” (I hate it when socks feel weird around my toes.)
She stood up and pranced around the living room. “They’re great, Mummy! It feels like I’m walking on a cloud,” she said, grinning.
It doesn’t get much better than that.
The underwear were on par with the socks – Julia loved the different colours and patterns and couldn’t wait to get them on. Just as Hanes promised, they fit great – they didn’t ride up, the material was thick, no wedgies were caused as a result of wearing them and no blood vessels were broken due to tight elastic waistbands. AND - they’re tagless, so there’s no itching or scratching. The price is right – $12 for a package of 9 is a pretty sweet price, especially since they fit so well.
“Are all those for me?” Julia asked incredulously as she watched me putting all 19 pairs of her new underwear away.
“Yup, they’re all for you,” I said.
She threw her arms around my legs and hugged me. “Oh, THANK YOU, Mummy!”
Don’t thank me, sweetie – thank Hanes.
Mama Says: Hanes’ No Ride Up underwear lives up to its name, and the EZ Sort Socks are, as you already know, like walking on a cloud. Hanes has done good on its Comfort-Fit promise. Two thumbs up!
